About Us

Hi, I’m Daniel Brooks. I’m 35 years old, and for the past 8 years I’ve been traveling to Thailand regularly. What started as a short vacation slowly turned into something much bigger.

I’ve visited Thailand more than 12 times. Some trips lasted a couple of weeks, others stretched into several months. In total, I’ve spent close to two years living and traveling across the country. I’ve stayed in Bangkok, lived for extended periods in Chiang Mai, explored the Isaan region by bus, and spent seasons on different islands.

I created Thailand Routes for one simple reason: there’s a lot of information about Thailand online, but much of it feels surface-level. Detailed route planning, transportation breakdowns, realistic budgets, and practical on-the-ground insights are often missing. I wanted to build a resource that focuses on those details.

Over the years, I’ve experienced Thailand beyond its main tourist highlights. Local markets, overnight train rides, small provincial towns, and everyday life outside the typical travel circuits have shaped how I understand the country. This website is built around those real experiences.

Thailand Routes is fully independent. The content is based on firsthand travel, direct observation, and continuous updates. The goal isn’t to exaggerate — it’s to provide clear, useful, and reliable information that travelers can actually use.

If you’re planning to explore Thailand on your own terms, I hope the routes and guides here make your journey easier.
